Expanding the Journey! Guiding the Next Generation Head Coach Team GC U11 Neudikids Academy

I’m thrilled to announce that for the 2025/26 season, I will take on the role of Head Coach for the U11 Grasshopper Club Zürich team in collaboration with Neudikids Academy.

The boys in this team are just 10 years old – an exciting and crucial stage in their development, both as footballers and as young individuals. At this age, technical skills and tactical understanding are important, but so too are emotional intelligence, empathy, and personal growth. My focus will be on creating a supportive environment where players feel encouraged to express themselves, take risks, and learn from every experience.

Working with this age group requires patience, active listening, and the ability to connect on a human level – qualities that I believe are just as essential as any training drill. By blending football education with emotional awareness, I hope to equip these young athletes with tools they can carry far beyond the pitch.

I also find it inspiring to combine this role with my other coaching position in the older youth category, as it allows me to work across different stages of player development – adapting my approach and learning from both experiences.

Ich freue mich sehr, bekannt zu geben, dass ich in der Saison 2025/26 die Rolle als Cheftrainer Team GC U11 Neudikids Academy begleiten werde.

Die Jungs in diesem Team sind gerade einmal 10 Jahre alt – eine spannende und entscheidende Phase in ihrer Entwicklung, sowohl als Fußballer als auch als junge Menschen

In diesem Alter sind technische Fähigkeiten und taktisches Verständnis wichtig, aber ebenso emotionale Intelligenz, Empathie und persönliche Entwicklung. Mein Ziel ist es, ein unterstützendes Umfeld zu schaffen, in dem sich die Spieler ermutigt fühlen, sich auszudrücken, Risiken einzugehen und aus jeder Erfahrung zu lernen.

Die Arbeit mit dieser Altersgruppe erfordert Geduld, aktives Zuhören und die Fähigkeit, auf menschlicher Ebene eine Verbindung aufzubauen – Qualitäten, die für mich genauso wichtig sind wie jede Trainingseinheit. Durch die Verbindung von fußballerischer Ausbildung mit emotionalem Bewusstsein möchte ich diesen jungen Sportlern Werkzeuge mitgeben, die sie weit über den Fußballplatz hinaus nutzen können.

Besonders spannend finde ich, diese Aufgabe mit meiner weiteren Trainerrolle im älteren Jugendbereich zu kombinieren, da es mir ermöglicht, über verschiedene Entwicklungsstufen hinweg zu arbeiten – meinen Ansatz anzupassen und aus beiden Erfahrungen zu lernen.

Mein herzlicher Dank gilt dem Vorstand und der sportlichen Leitung der Neudikids Academy für das Vertrauen in mich. Ich freue mich auf eine spannende Saison, in der wir diese Jungs nicht nur sportlich, sondern auch zu selbstbewussten und widerstandsfähigen jungen Menschen formen werden.
